JULY '14 - TOP 3

We have blinked and been here now 6 weeks, so time is flying in our new assignment.  We do a lot of office stuff – meetings, letters written, more meetings, problems to check on and emails by the dozens – we are the go between for all the 14 church schools and  BYUH -  who is the sponsoring university of all the teachers’ courses.   We are able to start each day with a staff devotional and that is a bit different from most office jobs.  There are 10 members on the Pacific Area Church Schools team and we occupy one side of the 2nd floor of the churches area office building which has 4 floors of busy workers for the church programs, and includes 17 senior missionary couples between that work here and also at the mission office, nearby.  I have wondered how many actually work in this building because it is amazing   what it takes to run the programs of the church.

TOP 3 of the month:
#3 –SUMMIT IN FIJI -  We met with a leadership team from each of the High Schools and put together a new curriculum plan for their schools with a strong emphasis on students graduating with an employable trade certificate to be ready for jobs after their missions.  These school leaders will give their all to this vision.  We were inspired by their testimonies and dedication as they recognized their schools are the Lord’s schools.

We had an evening to eat an "actual American-tasting hamburger meal" at Hard Rock Cafe
It tasted S-O-O-O-O BEEFY!  YUM!!  We all loved it.
While waiting for everyone to get here, we toured a Hindu Temple in downtown Nadi, Fiji
Very beautifully painted and interesting but we wanted to let this priest know the truth!

#2 – STEVE AND KELLI VISITED and we really soaked in some family time like sponges.  We are truly grateful to have our children and spouses feel like such good friends and each hour of our time together was well spent.  We showed them a small part of New Zealand and they took hundreds of photos of the beauty here.
The only part we didn’t like was saying goodbye.

#1 – OUR FAMILY GATHERED – Though we weren’t there for it – physically, we were in spirit that day united as ALL of our kids, their spouses & 27 grandchildren gathered in St George where James & Allie went through the temple AND then surprised everyone with an announcement that they are having a baby.  Truly our cup runneth over
with blessings and our hearts are enlarged ten-fold.
